How To Make Delicious Pancakes Without Yeast?

Yeast-free pancakes are a preparation that can be enjoyed either as a breakfast (in true American style) or as a post-workout snack. They are very easy to prepare and offer several interesting variants that can be adapted without much effort.

Since jam, syrups, honey and other foods rich in sugar are usually added to them, it is advisable to make pancakes with little or preferably no sugar. This also prevents the result from being cloying.

Ingredients

  • A pinch of salt.
  • 4 medium eggs.
  • 1 cup of milk (250 ml).
  • 2 cups of pastry flour (210 g).
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of butter (30 g).
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or 2 of sugar (25 or 30 g).
  • Optional: ground cinnamon or ginger.

Preparation

  1. First, crack the eggs in a bowl and separate the yolks from the whites.  Meanwhile,  sift the flour together with the sugar and salt. And if you do not use sugar but honey, it is important that you add it in the center of the flour, once it has been sifted.
  2. Place the butter in an ovenproof bowl and melt it in the microwave. On the other hand, heat a skillet lightly greased with a little butter.
  3. Mix the butter, milk and yolks in the same bowl with the help of the mixer. Once you get a homogeneous dough, add a touch of cinnamon or ginger, if you wish.
  4. Apart, beat the whites until stiff and add them to the dough
  5. Put the necessary amount of batter in the pan to form the first of our pancakes without yeast. Let  cook a few minutes until bubbles begin to sprout mass. Once it is set enough, turn it over and cook for 2 or 3 minutes.

  • A pinch of salt.
  • Optional: cinnamon powder.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla (5 g).
  • 1 cup of vegetable drink (250 ml).
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of vegetable oil (25 g).
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (30 g).
  • 2 and a half cups of oatmeal (250 g).
  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed or chia seeds (15 g).

Preparation

  1. As in the previous recipe, the first thing you have to do is place all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then leave a space in the center for the oil and proceed to mix everything while adding the milk, little by little.
  2. When you have a more or less soft dough, place a pan to preheat with a little vegetable oil. Next, add the amount of batter needed to make the pancakes.
  3. Cook the pancakes without yeast on both sides, until they are golden brown. It should be noted that, being vegan pancakes, they will not be as thick as others, but this does not mean that the flavor is not delicious.

Pancakes without yeast and with only 2 ingredients

The following recipe is very simple to prepare and only has two ingredients, which are responsible for providing the consistency and flavor: egg and banana.

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe banana.
  • 2 medium eggs (180 g).
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed or oatmeal (10 g).

Preparation

  1. Preheat a previously greased skillet over medium heat.
  2. Peel the banana and, with the help of a fork, press until you get a puree. Apart, crack the eggs and beat until the whites and yolks are completely integrated.
  3. Next, pour the egg mixture over the banana puree and mix with the help of the mixer.
  4. Cook the pancakes until they are well set on both sides and have a golden color. Be careful when turning them over, as they are thin they can break easily.
