Fight nerves
Although we believe that nervous people will always be like this, beyond the particular personality there are other factors that can alter our nervous system.
Some nutrients, such as B vitamins, magnesium or phosphorus, can help us balance our nerves gradually and naturally.
Food for nervous people
1. Green vegetables
The greener and darker the leaves of vegetables, the more beneficial they will be for our nervous system, thanks to the wide variety of nutrients found in this pigment.
There are two ways to consume these foods in the necessary quantity:
- Always accompanying meals (lunch and dinner) with a good salad rich in lettuce, arugula, watercress, chicory, etc.
- Eating breakfast or having a green smoothie, made with green leaves and fruits (banana, strawberry, pineapple, papaya).
2. Oats
Oatmeal is a very nutritious cereal, rich in vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber. It acts on the nervous system in two different ways:
- It revitalizes us and increases our energy levels.
- Relax nervous disorders such as anxiety or irritability.
We can consume it in granola, smoothies, creams, stews, drinks, etc.
3. Brewer’s yeast
Brewer’s yeast or nutritional yeast is an excellent supplement for nervous people.
It contains a large amount of B vitamins and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, magnesium or zinc.
- In addition to fighting disorders such as stress or anxiety, it is also a good remedy for skin, hair and nail problems.
- We can take a tablespoon (10 g) a day, mixed with juice, yogurt or any food.
4. Basil
Basil is a natural nervous toner that also calms all the nervous manifestations that are somatized in the stomach in the form of pain or indigestion.
We can consume it raw, in infusion, in sauces and vinaigrettes or use its essential oil on the skin or to flavor relaxing baths.
5. Walnuts
Walnuts are a dried fruit with antidepressant properties.
- Its content in essential fatty acids favors the production of serotonin, a powerful transmitter that causes a feeling of well-being and calms states of anxiety and depression.
- It also contains B vitamins, which strengthen the nervous system.
A handful of raw or toasted nuts a day is the recommended serving.
6. Banana
Banana is a delicious fruit very rich in carbohydrates that gives us a lot of energy. In addition, the banana is rich in potassium and vitamins of group B, two very beneficial nutrients for the nervous system.
- Banana is a fruit that we can take anywhere for your convenience.
- However, we can also incorporate them into our smoothies or roast them in the oven to delight ourselves with their sweetness.
7. Lemon
There are different citrus fruits that help us to improve our mood in a natural way, in addition to providing us with a large amount of nutrients. We highlight the lemon for being one of the most medicinal.
8. Lentils
Lentils improve nervous states thanks to its content of magnesium and B vitamins, as well as being an excellent source of vegetable protein and fiber.
For those who do not enjoy lentil stews, we recommend trying them in purees or even hamburgers, a delicious, different and very healthy way of eating legumes.
9. Cayenne
Cayenne pepper is a very spicy spice with surprising health properties, among which its ability to calm the nerves and fight insomnia stands out.
However, we must start consuming it in very small amounts, so that our stomach can get used to the spiciness.
10. Avocado
Avocado is an excellent and delicious fruit.
This superfood helps us balance any deficiencies thanks to its wide variety of vitamins, minerals and essential acids, as well as good amounts of protein, fat and fiber.
Avocado cannot be missing in our smoothies, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, creams, garnishes, etc.
If you are one of those nervous people who sometimes do not know how to get a little calm, you should try these foods that we have proposed here and check their results. We hope they help you.
